My name is Romy Mount, owner and founder of Yard Games Hawaii.
I am asked the same question over and over, “How did you come up with this idea?”. Yard Games Hawaii was created out of a desire for a change in lifestyle & a way to get people off their phones and interacting together. Yard Games Hawaii is a labor of love that has grown into so much more.
The Summer of 2018, I woke up with no feeling in my right arm and constant nerve pain. While waiting for surgery and out of work, I knew that I wanted a change from the restaurant industry and knew it was my time to jump in to the entrepreneurial life and not look back. Once my body was ready, I started building my first sets of Giant Jenga, Cornhole Boards & Yard Dominoes. By March 2019 I was taking rentals and by June, Yard Games Hawaii officially launched. By the end of the year, YGH was hosting yard game tournaments, setting up epic beach days and crafting company team building days for locals and visitors alike.
From providing the fun at an event celebrating life’s most memorable moments to supporting island wide cleanups, this journey has been nothing less than amazing. As YGH progresses I look to continue our growth and involvement within the community, offer more creative games & entertainment options and continue to spread aloha near and far.
